Hello NLAX Nation!

We continue to find ourselves in a very interesting time as Health Officials and the Healthcare Industry continue their efforts to catch up to and deal with the developing Coronavirus situation. Last evening, I received the same two messages from Noblesville Schools that you all did, the first cancelling all sports, after school activities, and field trips and the second announcing that today is our last day of school until after Spring Break.

In addition to these emails, I also received an email from the IYLA (Indiana Youth Lacrosse Association) as a member of their board. What this message said was the IYLA is cancelling, postponing, or rescheduling all practices and games through March 31st with Wednesday April 1st being the first available day to resume.

Based on all of this information your NYLAX Board has decided our plan of action is to cancel all NYLAX activities through Spring Break. Assuming there are no changes, updates, or extensions of shutdowns from either Noblesville Schools or the IYLA we will resume our season with practices and games beginning Monday April 13th.

We know this is not the information any of us wanted to hear and certainly not the message I’d like to be pushing out to the club today. The safety and health of our community and our athletes is of the utmost importance to us and we feel this is our best course of action in the face of the challenges being presented to us at this time.

This most certainly DOES NOT mean our athletes need to sit around and do nothing for four long weeks. Make sure teammates who live close can get together to play catch or do some 1 v 1 work, get the kids on a flat brick wall (one they have permission to use of course) to play wall ball, and/or get them on the rebounder. Whatever they do, keep the sticks in their hands!!! Due to the IYLA announcement and all the other school systems shutting down there are no teams in Indiana able to practice right now. History as my guide, the players from Carmel, Westfield, Zionsville, etc. will be doing their individual work during this time and if want to be able to compete with them come Monday April 13th our Noblesville players better be doing the same.

Everyone wash your hands as often as you can and do all the other little things the powers that be are telling us to do and we’ll get through this and will be back out there playing before we know it. If anything changes from the dates, etc. contained in this message I will continue to communicate with the club.
