Hello NYLAX Nation!
Hope everyone is doing well and keeping busy as our lives all slow down a little bit. For me, I’ve been catching up on repainting the inside of our house like I’ve been promising my wife for what seems like forever. What we REALLY hope is that the kids are keeping their sticks in their hands and maybe even running a lap around the neighborhood or two every once in a while. We still expect to have a season and our players need to be ready to hit the ground running!
As of today, we do not have any firm dates to pass along. The IYLA (Indiana Youth Lacrosse Association) has fallen in line with Gov Holcomb and the schools and we will stay dark with no practices or games for any clubs through May 1. In the past week the High School Boys Association announced their plans to start the season immediately after the May 1 deadline passes. They will start the playoffs on June 3rd with their State Championship being played on June 13th.
Our hopes and expectations are that the HS Girls and IYLA will both announce similar plans so that while the season will be abbreviated, our athletes will still get a chance to compete in their Spring sport and we will still have a Championship day.
Your NYLAX Board is keeping our ear to the ground and as soon as there is more to report we will reach out again.
Have a great day everyone!
President of NYLAX
